In just two years since it was founded, Sauce Capital has successfully disrupted the Abu Dhabi food industry, building five hybrid community kitchens. The concept combines a cutting-edge tech platform with a community-based network of self-owned dark kitchens to set a new standard for technology-led shared kitchens.

Co-founder and Commercial Director Fares Alarmouti explains what makes this bold and innovative new approach stand out in an already dynamic sector.

“What makes Sauce Capital special and different from the market is we have our own brands in all our kitchens,” Fares says.

“We focus on several communities, and each community has different brands or options depending on that community's demographic.”

From the outset, the founders had a tech-enabled approach, knowing that efficiency was essential to making the business model successful.

“With the global trends and what’s happening around the world,” Fares continues, “We realized that food delivery is crucial and most of the kitchens and most restaurants are trying to implement that,”

A delivery-led enterprise like this needed the best delivery tech available, and the team implemented Deliverect from day one to cope with the rapid growth they forecast.

Deliverect helps Sauce Capital provide proof of concept before launch

Many restaurants search for a better solution to delivery management after experiencing the many issues of managing large volumes of delivery orders from different sources. However, the founders at Sauce Capital knew from the outset that they needed a solid delivery management platform. 

As Head of Growth Ross Gammell reveals, Deliverect was instrumental in bringing the concept to life: 

“Before going to market in 2020, we carried out a lot of research to see the different kinds of issues that restaurants are facing. Deliverect provided a great supporting role in resolving those issues before we ever went to market.”

With teething issues dealt with ahead of time, the brand was ready to launch. In 2020, amid a difficult period for the industry, Sauce Capital took its innovative idea into the real world.

Deliverect reduces errors while saving on labor costs

It wasn’t just a pre-launch relationship. It was time to see how Deliverect performed with real customers placing orders. Ross says that Deliverect improved operations in critical areas.

“We’ve benefited from Deliverect in many ways,” he says, “We’ve been able to help the kitchens and reduce the margin of error. We now have a consolidated platform where we can have an overview of all of our different channels.”

Ross refers to Deliverect’s order management system, which automatically inputs orders from multiple delivery partners into the POS and allows team members to view and manage orders from one dashboard.

“In addition to this,” he adds, “We’ve also been able to save on the labor costs associated with having a manual inputter who stands at the POS all day.”

For Fares, the most significant benefits Deliverect offers are the efficiency gains from its core order processing and menu management features. The latter allows menus stored on different delivery partners’ platforms to be edited and updated from one dashboard, eliminating the need to log in to each and manually make changes.

“Deliverect offers a centralized view of each order, a single ticket format, and completely automatic order processing,” Fares says, adding, “Online delivery menus can now be edited and published easily across multiple channels and new menu items can be tested more easily.”

Ross emphasizes that Deliverect allows the team to work faster and process more orders during critical service periods.

“Particularly in the lunch and dinner rush,” he continues, “It’s been a very effective tool for managing the load and helping the staff. Deliverect is a key component of these flows that enables us to carry out our operations as we do daily.”
