After starting out as a street food stall at music festivals and events in 2015, Wingmans has quickly grown in popularity among London’s foodies for its American homestyle food, especially for its fried chicken wings tossed in a variety of flavorful sauces.
The wings specialist now operates out of locations in Kilburn, Shoreditch, and Soho, and is renowned for its ‘bottomless’ brunches, featuring unlimited wings and fries alongside creative cocktails.
Delivery has been a hugely important channel for Wingmans, and Operations Manager Matteo Guglielmi is in charge of making it happen. The brand started out using Deliveroo, Uber Eats, and Just Eat for its delivery orders, but as it got more and more popular, Matteo needed to improve the way delivery orders were managed.
“If we had the amount of orders we have now and we didn’t have Deliverect, we would probably have to dedicate a single person to stay on the till in front of the delivery platforms, taking the ticket and inputting every single order.” - Matteo Guglielmi, Operations Manager at Wingmans Chicken
Matteo explains how Deliverect has been a key partner as the business has grown: “Our second Soho site just opened a couple of months ago. It’s a really big site. We have 150 seats and outside seating. The main benefit of having Deliverect in the restaurant is basically having the order coming from delivery platforms into the kitchen right away.”
Aside from helping the new site cope with a large volume of orders, he explains how it helps in other areas, saying, “It also improves accuracy in stock depletion because all the orders go through our POS system automatically.”
Matteo explains that Deliverect has freed up staff members’ time by automatically pushing orders into the restaurant’s system.
“If we had the amount of orders we have now and we didn’t have Deliverect, we would probably have to dedicate a single person to stay on the till in front of the delivery platforms, taking the ticket and inputting every single order.”
Deliverect has enabled Wingmans to keep up with orders without having to spend more on staffing, thereby increasing revenue without compromising on tight margins.
"It’s been a real help to have one point where we can manage all the menus, apply changes, push new menus, and if something isn’t available, snooze it or add an extra item."
Matteo goes on to explain how Deliverect also helps them to improve efficiency and cut down on manual admin:
“Operationally managing all the menus we have and all the platforms we have, it’s been a real help to have one point where we can manage all the menus, apply changes, push new menus, and if something isn’t available, snooze it or add an extra item.”
Deliverect’s menu management features have allowed Wingmans to offer customers more choice without adding a ton of extra work for the back-of-house staff. Menu changes are automatically pushed out to the delivery partners giving extra flexibility in a time of uncertainty.
"Absurd Bird boosted time of delivery and ratings, leading to higher visibility on the Uber Eats app."
“After integrating with Deliverect, our menu push is now seamless. We are able to update menu items, prices, titles of menus, order and item availability in an instant.”
