Established in 1991, The Regency Club brings the charm of a Kenyan members’ club to Queensbury in Northwest London. Serving Indian cuisine with Kenyan cooking influences to the area’s diverse population, the restaurant creates a unique dining experience. 

“We pride ourselves on the style of cooking that we do,” Rahul Sharma, Director at The Regency Club, explains, “We are very true to our roots, being from East Africa. We do a lot of slow cooking, and we specialize in a lot of barbecue-style meats.”

Having built a loyal following and a solid reputation over 20 years, The Regency Club faces the daunting challenge of modernizing its operations and adding new channels while maintaining its unique atmosphere and authentic charm.

The atmosphere and authentic details of The Regency Club are all-important because, as Rahul explains, the restaurant serves a loyal audience of regular diners: “It was meant to be a home-away-from-home for a lot of the migrants that moved from Kenya and came to the UK. We currently serve the third generation, and we have put ourselves into the heart of the community.”

Adding a delivery channel was challenging without changing the mood and look of the dining room. The answer was to create a delivery channel that could run in the background using the existing kitchen to prepare food and delivery partners to send it out. 

But having drivers waiting around in the restaurant and clogging up the front-of-house areas with third-party delivery tablets wasn’t an option. It would have ruined the aesthetic of the restaurant.

“Working with Deliverect, Flipdish, and Gigable, it’s“ allowed us to completely streamline our ordering process,” Rahul reveals, “It made our staff much happier, it provided a better working environment, our customers didn’t have to hear beeping and noise going off from different tablets all the time.”

The partnership allowed The Regency Club to maintain its atmosphere while adding a new channel of business. 

“It just made the restaurant feel like a restaurant,” Rahul continues, “But in the background, we were able to operate like a takeaway business. So it gave us the best of both worlds.”

Rahul reveals the ambitious goals: “Our future plans at The Regency Club are to expand into the takeaway and delivery sector. We plan to do this by opening up dark kitchens all across London.”
