Cluck Clucks Improves Order Accuracy Threefold With Deliverect (While Cutting Costs) 

Fried chicken and waffles have been an American classic since the 1930s, when the combination was made famous by soul food cooks. Since then, it has become a brunch staple worldwide, beloved for its satisfying blend of crunchy fried chicken with soft and sweet waffles.

Raza Hashim saw the potential to bring his version of the comfort food classic to Toronto when he founded Cluck Clucks, a family-friendly chicken and waffle restaurant with almost as much personality as Raza himself.

He explains the brand’s essence with evident enthusiasm: “We are a restaurant based in Downtown Toronto that specializes in chicken and waffles. We draw on cultural influences from all around the world.” 

Cluck Clucks aims to present Chicken and Waffles as a comfort food for everyone. The brand’s success saw it opening multiple locations and rapidly growing its delivery capacity.

“We just started expanding our business.” Raza continues, “Cluck Clucks just opened up a second location, and… we recently started franchising as well, and our response has been amazing.” 

Cluck Clucks had to manage more outlets with skyrocketing delivery demand as it expanded. 

“We were on the delivery platforms before it was even cool,” Raza jokes, “We’ve seen our revenue from these channels grow in a sustainable way. Initially, it was 5-10% of our total sales. In 2021, as of today, these channels contribute to about 25% of our revenue.”

Order Management Improves Order Accuracy 3x

Cluck Clucks uses Uber Eats, DoorDash, and SkipTheDishes, so they must manage orders from multiple delivery partners. Raza explains that before implementing Deliverect, there was chaos at the tills: 

“Before Deliverect, a person was manually standing there and punching orders… When it gets busy, all these tablets start ringing simultaneously.”

Raza says they used Deliverect’s integration with TouchBistro to revolutionize how orders were fed into the system. 

“About a year and a half ago we switched to TouchBistro. Now all we do is click the button and the order will get punched in on the other side. The integration with TouchBistro was seamless with Deliverect. It was actually a life-changing situation for us.” 

Jithin Thomas, Cluck Clucks’s Kitchen Manager, adds: “It used to take about a minute or so to punch in an order, but right now, we can send the order – exactly the way the customer sent it to us – to the kitchen in like 10 seconds.”

Raza reveals that Deliverect has saved the company money in two ways: “Having this app made it all simple. Now, instead of making the same order twice, I’m only making it once, so my food cost is decreasing. Then I need one less person to manage all this hassle for me, which means that my labor cost is going down. “

Jithin details just how easy it is to manage orders with Deliverect: “Before Deliverect, we needed a lot of time to train the new employees about order taking and all that stuff. Right now, it’s just a piece of cake for everyone.” 

Raza is a man who knows his crucial metrics, and he reveals the extent to which Deliverect reduced order errors: “Pre-Deliverect, Cluck Clucks order errors were about 5-6%, we’ve been able to bring that down to about 2-3%.” 

Menu Management Tools Save Hours 

Another problem with managing orders from multiple delivery partners comes when you need to update your menu. A simple change, like changing an item’s availability or updating a price, can take hours or even days if you rely on customer support from your delivery partners. Raza explains how Deliverect’s menu management tools solved this problem and saved him a ton of time.

“Before Deliverect, I had to manually go to every single app’s menu if I had to change a price or if I had to snooze a product,” he recalls, “It was time-consuming having to manage all of these individually.” 

“Now, with Deliverect, it’s effortless,” Raza continues, “I open my laptop, go on the website, click on a few buttons, and just hit ‘push,’ and our menus go live right away.” 

Raza estimates that the menu management tools save him as much as two hours each time he has to make updates:
