With three locations across the Belgian capital, Sushioui is one of the best-known sushi restaurants. The story of Sushioui reads like a novel: in 2012, CEO and founder - and chef!- Philippe Kuperblum decided to leave his old life behind to go study at the Sushi Chef Institute in Los Angeles. Shortly after, in November 2013, the first Sushioui restaurant was born. 

Sushioui’s philosophy? Taking their customers on a culinary trip to Japan through a menu that consists of fresh, high-quality sushi, sashimi, soups and more - all prepared using traditional Japanese techniques. “I designed the restaurants with an open kitchen, which allows you to appreciate the freshness of all our products,” explains Philippe. “You can watch us prepare your order from scratch.”

The Sushioui menu certainly invites you in with its handmade temaki rolls, maki, spring rolls, salad bowls, sashimi, soups, and much more. And with special lunch formulas and platters on the menu, its offering is also perfect for takeaway or delivery.   

Saving time with Deliverect

Like many of Europe’s capital cities, Brussels has seen a rise in delivery food orders, and the delivery landscape has changed a lot in the past few years. “Now that there are a few different food ordering players on the market, more and more people order through these third-party apps,” Philippe says. “And while that’s opening up the market, the competition is now tougher for e-commerce businesses like us, which also offer a delivery service of their own.”

According to Philippe, joining forces with Deliverect has helped the different Sushioui teams save a lot of time. “Thanks to Deliverect, we were able to eliminate additional - and therefore inconvenient - processes in our operational flow. Everyone in the hospitality business or restaurant industry knows the true meaning of the word “rush”, so you can imagine how essential it is to use your time as efficiently as possible.”

“For me, one of the best things about Deliverect is that it takes just one click to push incoming orders from Deliveroo or Uber Eats to our point-of-sale system. Likewise, our turnover from all the different sources is now consolidated automatically, so we don’t have to retype everything.”

With in-house diners, takeaway, and delivery operations in full swing, Sushioui has a lot on its plate already, but the sky’s the limit for Philippe: “We’ve opened our 3rd location in March 2019, and we’ve fully refurbished the other two last summer. It’s time to optimize all our locations before moving forward with new restaurants. For now, there’s just one word left to say: Irasshaimase!” (Japanese for “come in”).
