    Since 2018, Berliner Das Original has been introducing customers to the original Berlin-style Döner Kebab, focusing on fresh vegetables, rigorously selected meat, and impeccable hygiene to transform the classic kebab into a flavourful and high-quality culinary speciality. Today, Berliner Das Original is the established benchmark for authentic kebabs, operating approximately thirty locations across Europe.

    The Challenge: Maximising Sales with Reliable Kiosks

    To remain competitive and offer the best possible customer experience, Berliner Das Original wanted to install self-ordering kiosks to speed up service and drive upsells.

    The key goals were to:

    • Automate upselling and increase the average spend.

    • Streamline service to reduce queue times and serve more customers.

    • Provide a smooth, responsive, and frustration-free customer experience.

    • Secure a competitive price, including all card processing fees.

    • Rely on a dependable kiosk with responsive, 24/7 support.


    The Solution: More Upsells and Orders Per Shift

    Berliner Das Original deployed three to four Deliverect Kiosks in each of its sites. They chose the FOX model for its integrated payment system and sleek design, which offers a more aesthetically pleasing alternative to bulky kiosks that require external PDQ machines and printers.

    A Smooth and Responsive Customer Experience

    Berliner Das Original wanted an ultra-responsive experience on its ordering kiosks to eliminate customer frustration. By opting for a direct RJ45 (Ethernet) connection, the FOX kiosks provide instantaneous touch response. Queue times were drastically reduced–virtually non-existent during peak hours–allowing teams to handle orders two to three times faster.

    Upsells Are Taking Off

    Deliverect Kiosk allowed for the automation and configuration of upselling based on a multitude of scenarios. The average spend increased naturally without putting pressure on staff, directly impacting the bottom line.

    A Highly Competitive and Attractive Price

    The decision to go with Deliverect Kiosk was heavily influenced by its excellent value for money, particularly regarding the cost of the kiosk, the monthly subscription, and the card processing fees.

    Data to Improve the Average Spend

    The back-office system allowed Berliner Das Original to track performance and KPIs and continuously optimise its menu. By testing different suggestion strategies, the abandonment rate was reduced from 31% in 2023 to 24% in 2025.

    Integration with POS and Loyalty, Zero Terminal Maintenance

    The FOX kiosks were integrated with the Zelty Point-of-Sale (POS) system, simplifying menu management for the Berliner Das Original teams. The Hey Pongo loyalty program was also integrated into the customer flow. The integrated payment system eliminated the need for external PDQ machines and printers, which are costly and difficult to maintain.
