How delivery powerhouse Mezzencore continues to gear up delivery times
Mezzencore is the story of two Lebanese cousins who spend their childhood between the pots and pans of their families’ restaurant kitchens. Growing up in the restaurant industry only fuelled their passion for Lebanese food, and in 2016, they decided to begin a restaurant of their own. Set in the heart of Paris, Mezzencore serves a range of Lebanese and Mediterranean food, rooted in tradition yet with a modern twist.
A fresh take on traditions
“Many Lebanese and Mediterranean restaurants in Paris are old-fashioned. We really wanted our own restaurant to be different, to create a modern look and feel that would also speak to the younger generations,” says Wael Zebib, co-founder of Mezzencore.
“On our menu, you’ll find a lot of Lebanese dishes, of course, but many of our dishes are also inspired by Greek and other Mediterranean cuisines. Some of our most popular dishes are chicken shawarma, hummus, and of course our Mezze, which is great for sharing and tasting many different things simultaneously.”
"We don’t need to print receipts anymore, take them to the kitchen and read them to the staff. They now see all the incoming delivery orders automatically on the kitchen display, which greatly improves communication.”

Focusing on takeaway and delivery
From the beginning, Mezzencore was meant to be a quick-serve restaurant where you could eat fast and count on fresh, 100% homemade, quality meals. “We knew early on that we wanted to offer takeaway and delivery,” Wael confirms. “It fits our fast-casual concept, location, and customer’s needs. Of course, we didn’t know immediately that we’d do so many deliveries daily!”
Mezzencore is one of Paris’s food delivery powerhouses, getting out hundreds of delivery orders daily. So, how do they manage these high volumes? According to Wael, speed of service is critical: “If you want to supply so many customers with delivery, it’s important to be fast. Every minute counts! Deliverect helps us reduce the time we spend preparing orders, so we have more time to deal with getting delivery exactly right!”
“With Deliverect, we no longer need to type the orders as they go automatically to our point-of-sale system. Time management is important in this industry, so reducing an order’s delivery time by 30 seconds is very valuable. That’s why this automation of our online order flow is so meaningful and helpful. Besides, it also ensures accurate VAT data, and you can no longer make mistakes.”
Improving the communication flow
“Another area we have improved on with the implementation of Deliverect is the communication with our kitchen. We don’t need to print receipts anymore. Take them to the kitchen and read them to the staff. They now automatically see all incoming delivery orders on the kitchen display, which greatly improves communication.”
“I recently used the menu builder for the first time,” Wael continues. “Pushing a single menu into different platforms simultaneously is amazing because you save time. When you want to change a menu, it takes just one click. Before it was difficult and you had to wait and explain to the delivery service what you wanted to change. It could take hours - so being able to do this ourselves is great.”
When you’re managing many orders at the same time, just being fast isn’t enough. You also have to be able to handle issues and keep the customers happy. “It’s not always easy,” Wael explains. “The problems that arise are always the unexpected ones: you missed a product, and the customer calls you, or you have to serve people in the shop while food couriers arrive to pick up orders, or you have customers that want to build and personalize their dish, and so on. Again, that’s where Deliverect helps us as well - because it helps us reduce delivery times so we get more time to deal with these questions and issues.”
"Time management is so important in this industry, so reducing an order’s delivery time by even 30 seconds is very valuable. That’s why this automation of our online order flow is so meaningful and helpful."

Harnessing online channels
a arecommunicationRestaurants today must be present online to avoid missing out on any business. The Mezzencore online brand is crucial, and the restaurant tries to keep in touch with its (potential) customers on social media. “We post a lot of pictures and stories on Instagram, and we also host a monthly contest. Our online channels are a good communication tool that helps us listen to our customers to develop further and improve. We’re always trying to offer new things and make our customers happier. Our goal is to cover all of Paris.”
